Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data korean.parts collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by KORAVTO Co., Ltd, #603, 55 Eunbong-ro, Namdong-gu, Incheon 21631, Republic of Korea (email sales@korean.parts). KORAVTO is the controller of your data.
1. What we collect
When you order. First and last name, email address, phone number with country code, delivery address and whether it is a residential address, the parts you ordered and their prices, and the details of your PayPal payment: the transaction number, the name and email of the PayPal account you paid from, and the amount. We never receive your card number; PayPal handles payment on its own pages.
When you write to us. What you send us by email or WhatsApp: your message, your name and number or address, and anything you attach, such as your VIN or photos of a part.
When you browse. Technical data that any website receives: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the time, and the address of the page that sent you to us. We keep this in our server logs and send part of it to Google Analytics (see section 5).
On your device. Your cart and your language choice are stored in your browser (local storage), not on our servers. They stay on your device until you clear them. The cart is sent to us only when you open it, so that we can check that the parts are still available, and when you order.
We do not collect data about children and the site is not directed at persons under 18.
2. Why we use it
- To process and ship your order, answer questions about it, and handle refunds: this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To reply when you write to us about a part or an order.
- To keep records that the law requires us to keep, such as tax, export and customs records.
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it, using statistics that do not identify you personally.
- To prevent fraud and abuse of the site.
Where the law of your country requires consent for analytics cookies, we ask for it before using them.
3. Who we share it with
- PayPal processes your payment. PayPal has its own privacy policy.
- FedEx and Korea Post (EMS) deliver your parcel. They receive your name, address, phone number and email, and the customs description and value of the parcel.
- Customs authorities in Korea and in your country receive the information required on export and import documents.
- Google receives analytics data (section 5).
- Our hosting and email providers store data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
We do not share your data with the dismantling yards: we collect the part ourselves. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Where your data is processed
We process your data in the Republic of Korea. The European Commission has decided that the Republic of Korea provides an adequate level of data protection, so transfers of data from the European Economic Area to us are allowed on that basis. PayPal, FedEx, Korea Post and Google process data in other countries under their own safeguards.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and searches are used. It sets cookies whose names begin with parts_ga and records your IP address, browser and the pages you open. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. If a consent banner is shown in your country, analytics cookies are set only after you agree.
PayPal sets its own cookies on its pages when you pay. Other than that, the site uses local storage for your cart and language, as described in section 1, and no advertising cookies.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 5 years after the order, as required by Korean law on electronic commerce and taxation.
- Messages about orders and parts: 3 years after the last message.
- Server logs: 90 days.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
After that, data is deleted or anonymised, unless a legal claim or obligation requires us to keep it longer.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to give it to you in a portable format, or to stop using it for a purpose based on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to sales@korean.parts; we answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. Order records that the law requires us to keep cannot be deleted before the retention period ends.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may also complain to your data protection authority. If you live in the Republic of Korea, the Personal Information Protection Act applies and you may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission. If you live in California, you have the rights given by the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
8. Security
The site works over HTTPS. Payment is handled by PayPal, so card details never reach us. Access to order data is limited to the staff who process orders.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell you by email or on the site.
